Beverly Gage, who teaches 20th-century American history at Yale, will appear on episodes airing Aug. 15 and Aug. 29 at 9 p.m.
The episodes focus on the early history of the Cold War and examine strategic atomic production and testing sites, as well as top-secret bunkers designed to protect key U.S. personnel in case of nuclear attack.
Gage will be an expert guide in these episodes, showing viewers around a nuclear test site in Nevada and a West Virginia bunker designed to house Congress in the event of nuclear war.
In addition to her work at Yale, Gage is a journalist and the author of the upcoming book "The Day Wall Street Exploded: A Story of America in its First Age of Terror."
New "Bachelor" chosen
ABC has announced the latest star of its hit reality dating show "The Bachelor." It's Brad Womack, 34, a bar owner from Austin, Texas. On the 11th edition of "The Bachelor," a new gang of women will compete to win Womack's love. The new season debuts 9:30 p.m. Sept. 24 on ABC.
TNT orders more "Grace"
The cable network TNT announced this week that it had ordered 15 more episodes of its freshman drama "Saving Grace," starring Holly Hunter.
On the series, Hunter plays Grace Hanadarko, an Oklahoma City police detective whose sinning ways earn her a visit from an angel named Earl (Leon Rippy). The
"Saving Grace" airs Monday nights at 10, following "The Closer."
NBC at NCC
Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of "NBC Nightly News," will be the guest of honor at Le Bal d'Ecole 2007, a benefit for Norwalk Community College.
Serving as master of ceremonies will be Chuck Scarborough, coanchor with Sue Simmons of News Channel 4 at 6 and 11 p.m.
The benefit is a black-tie gala hosted by the Norwalk Community College Foundation and will take place Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at the college.
