Drop by Goodies in Milford at any time of day and you're likely to find either Helen Filipidis or Effie Kolitsas, or both, behind the counter. The two sisters make up two thirds of the partnership that bought the restaurant, formerly known as The Greek's, last October.

They grew up in the restaurant business and they know how to take care of customers. That means getting all the big things right, like making sure the restaurant is always clean and that service is speedy, to doing all the small things, like including crispy bacon with all hot dogs free of charge.

Both Helen and Effie had some big shoes to fill when they took over the restaurant. The Greek's had become a hot dog institution in Milford, and expectations were high. But eat a dog from Goodies with your eyes closed and you'll find that nothing has changed which is a very, very good thing.

This helps keep the hot dog oils separate from the fried seafood or french fry oils, which can affect the dog's taste. The result is a lightly fried Hummel Bros. dog that has been finished off with a few minutes on the grill. The hot dogs at Goodies are made to order, so the dogs are always warm juicy.

But Goodies really shines with their house special, the "Goodie Dog". It comes with a delicious mix of chili, cheese, onion and bacon. The snappiness of the dog blends well with gooey mix of toppings,
