Jeff Donahue led Prep with wins in the broad jump and pole vault. & Mounting interest in the Yale-Cornell-Princeton crew races on the Housatonic River brought expressions of concern from Yale and state police officials. They said they hoped the event would not develop into a new version of "Derby Day", which was deleted from the Yale campus calendar in 1951 after university officials described it as "a free-for-all on the Derby flats and "a general brawl" with excessive drunkenness and ill-behavior.
