| | U-11 Pride Connecticut Cup soccer champions On Saturday, June 13, the Easton Redding United U11 Pride won the Connecticut Cup, the state's top travel honor, by defeating defending champion Farmington 4-1. The Connecticut Cup is a state-wide single elimination tournament which decides the best team in the state for each age category. The U11 Pride played through four rounds, scoring a combined 14 goals while only conceding 1 goal. This season, the team also won the Southwest Connecticut Junior Soccer Association's U11 Division A. Pride's divisional record was 8-0-0 with 28 goals scored, while only allowing 7 goals to be scored against them.
Saturday's victory is the first time an Easton or Redding girls team has ever won the Connecticut Cup. Easton and Redding recently merged their travel soccer programs and Pride is one of the first combined U-11 teams formed under the new club.
The Pride was coached by coach Neil Phillips, the ER United Girls Coaching Director and the Joel Barlow Girl's Varsity coach. Steve Lichtman was the Pride manager.
