A Maryland man was arrested Monday on a State Police warrant accusing him of sexually assaulting a girl in the Milford rest area of Interstate 95 northbound a year ago.

Donald E. Tate, 49, of Willards, is charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Tate turned himself in at Troop G barracks in Bridgeport.

State police said Tate sexually assaulted the girl on May 5, 2007, in the rest area, while she was traveling with him. She reported the incident to her mother, state police said.

He posted $100,000 bond for an appearance May 23 in Milford Superior Court.

-RAIDS NET 2: The Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team arrested two people on gun and drug charges this week in separate raids.

On Monday, they raided 410 Carroll Ave. The resident, Jordan Thompson, 21, is charged with three counts of theft of a firearm and a single count of third-degree larceny.

On Thursday, the apartment of Jose Ramos, 18, of the Greene Homes public housing complex, was raided.

He's charged with sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia in a factory situation.

He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond, and Thompson, in lieu of $25,000 bond, for appearances in Bridgeport Superior Court.
